(Scenic Conception)

The following is my work for the scenic conception of UNCG’s production of Galatea, or Whatever You Be, by MJ Kaufman. I worked with the other members of the design team to develop the scene design to provide inspiration for the final design.

These concept images, created in Photoshop, helped to effectively communicate the themes and tone I identified within the show. These images served as a foundation for many of my design choices. The relationship between nature and humanity, lines and curves were the primary inspiration behind both of these images.

Concept Imagery

These rough sketches provided a variety of different options and opportunities to best communicate this show through scene design. As the process progressed, we leaned more toward the relationship humanity has with nature and how that often is portrayed through littering and polution.
