Directing is one of my favorite roles on a production team to apply my skills. As someone who has wide experience in both design and performance, I find this depth of experience and understanding applies itself well to the role of a director, who must constantly be managing the production elements both inside and out of rehearsals. Over the past few years, I’ve grown in appreciation for the role of a director as someone who facilitates a collaborative environment rather than controlling it. I’m always eager to jump into a directing project if an opportunity arises.

Muse

Original Play by Cammi Stilwell

Directed by Mat Middleton

This is a production I directed and produced in my undergrad in 2019. It is my first outing as director and stands as one of the most rewarding projects of my life as a theatre artist. Made possible almost completely through student efforts, this show was completely student run, which gave me the opportunity to not only test my abilities as a director but also as an educator.
